This is an email I received from a friend of David Bill.  It is from a gofundme.com page on which a memorial has been set up.  Betsy

Our dear friend, Dave suffered an injury from a fall on May 26, 2021 in which he sustained a broken neck.  After days in the hospital, ICU,  rehabilitation, and hospice care, Dave passed away on June 19, 2021.

For those who may not have known Dave, prior to his retirement he had been a Texas Correctional Officer for 16 years at the Beto and Skyview-Hodge Units.  Dave had an incredible spirit, was always up for a challenge and generous to a fault.  He was an amazing husband and father who brought joy to all who knew him.  Those of us who had the privilege of knowing Dave will remember him as a sweet and gentle soul, who always saw the good in people.

Many people have asked what they can do to help.  If you have been wanting to help and have not known how, this is an opportunity that would help his family immeasurably.

In support of his family, we are asking for donations to cover:
Emergency bills
Medical bills
Funeral expenses
End of life expenses, and all other incidentals.
