James Linden,76, died suddenly April 29, 2020 after a brief illness. Preceded in death by his parents Frederick "Fritz" and May Linden (nee Martin), and his son James R. Jr. Survived by the love of his life Jane (nee Pierpoint); brother Chuck (Sandy); daughter Kathleen Linden Baumann (Joseph); step-children Amy Petzinger and Brad Petzinger (Mary); beloved "Pops" and "Papa" to Jimmy and Joey Baumann, Michelle Boyer, and Noah, Emma and Finn Petzinger; uncle to Cari Stafford (Tom) and Marc Linden (Christa). Jim was a graduate of Rocky River High School Class of 1961 and attended Ohio University. He enjoyed a long and successful 35+ year career with the City of Rocky River where he was Safety Service Director from 1994-2012. In retirement Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing with friends, and long walks with his beloved miniature schnauzer, Gunnar. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jim's memory to the Rocky River Fire Department, 21012 Hilliard Blvd. Rocky River, OH 44116.
